Awesome result! I am glad Minelab came through for you. I replaced my WM10 battery with one I got online. It is 3.7v, 1100mAh. Model number is 953048P. It fit ok, had to shave a little of the plastic off.

Repair of broken mounting tangs on 11" coil?
I will be receiving an 11" coil with the shaft mount tangs broken off. Any idea on the best way to fix it? Is there a special type of plastic to use and/or glue?
I won't be getting the broken off pieces.

Re: WM10 battery issue
I'm glad you are back in business and yes,I've dealt with Jamie when my WM10 and charger weren't operating correctly shortly after I got it. Literally...I kid you not...I'm not saying this because I'm a ML user or fanboy....she was THE most helpful customer rep I've had in many many years, regarding ANYTHING. I understand she's operating under certain guidelines of the company but everything was made exactly right in record time. Now,I will send a generic email to "Hi there!" and ask for her specifically with any further issues that may come up.

Re: replacment battery for WM10
just get a RC car battery that will fit dimensions wise, volt wise 3.7 is nominal which means it will charge to around 4.2 volts and pretty sure at that size it will be a lipo as that's what came out & easy 2 wire solder job and its done. mah probably going to be around the same for the size of that one cell battery.
I don't use the wm10 just more crap I need to charge and cart around , but looks like an easy fix and just for posterity the minmax brand is made in china and el cheapo anyway so what ever you find on ebay that has sold a lot at the right size physically & voltage should be a goer

Re: Repair of broken mounting tangs on 11" coil?
Kind of the same idea as welding metals, which I have much experience with as an auto mechanic...you have to find a way to get both parts into a liquid state so they bond on a molecular level, not just an adhesive bond. Starting with plastics that are alike is key....and should yield the best results. Don't use any kind of bonding agent with metal particles in it of course,as it may upset the coils null. And be careful not to get that nasty ass MEK on your skin or elsewhere!
Please be sure to post a pic of your repair as others can use the info as to what worked in that situation. Congrats on your future Pro coil!

Re: Introducing Our Brand New Herke CTX 3030 Metal Arm Cuff!
Been using one for over a year and its totally faultless, very comfortable and supports your arm much better, apart from taking off to clean it has not budged which is more than I could say for the Minelab one which was sliding all over the place after a months use, may be a bit pricey but lets face the CTX is one of the most expensive detectors out so its relatively cheap for a upgrade fix.

Re: replacment battery for WM10
Exactly what I am saying, it is easy to get a 3.7v LIPO battery, it is mortal hell to get one that will fit! Like someone above mentioned, get a smaller MAh which is a smaller phusical size, and it will work, just not as long as normal. Anyway, Jamie at Minelab Service, bless her heart, had an old used one laying around that works perfectily and is sending it to me.
Being as how I use earbuds and keep the WM10 in a plastic water proof case around my neck, I am going to modify the case by cutting a small channel between the top and bottom cases, get a 1600mAh battery and put it into a plastic case and strap it to the WM10. It might be a bit ugly but it will work.
Thanks for the input guys.

Re: Repair of broken mounting tangs on 11" coil?
I don't know plastics well - what kind of plastic are the coil tangs on a CTX coil?
So I just grind down the existing base and then apply the MEK/same plastic goop while holding 2 squares of same type of plastic (or a channel cutoff) in place?

Re: replacment battery for WM10
this will fit easy http://www.batteryspace.com/polymerli-ioncell37v750mah603048-10c27wh75arate.aspx
there is stuff out there that will fit inside the WM10 and its a simple job if you can do the external one you can do this
have a look around just look for single cell lipo and check size the size you gave equates to 50 mm x 40 mm
good luck.

Re: Repair of broken mounting tangs on 11" coil?
I did a Google search "repair broken detector coil mounts' and got maybe a zillion hits. In looking at a few I thought the simplest, maybe a tad longer to do, was to locate some thick 90 degree plastic, carefully grind off the broken ear down flush, and mount the 90 degree plastic using some of the 'glues' mentioned. I dont know if I would drill the hole first or last. Several of the 'fixes' in the search did that. There was one hit that showed a complete new ear mount base, that after carefully ginding off the entire mount area a 'new' 2 ear mount ws attached with a larger base and thicker ears. Seems to me the 'ear' would be more likely to fail if repaired at the original break. Putting a new 90 degree thick plastic there may make it last forever. Doing that may not require a new bolt either, but that shouldnt be an issue anyway.

Anyone hip mount their 3030?
I would like to know your set-up. Picture would help? Also rod options?

Re: Anyone hip mount their 3030?
There is no way to hipmount a CTX. There would be no advantage to it either, it's waterproof so you're not doing it to keep it out of the water, and removing the control and battery would eliminate the counterbalance for the weight of the coil. Lastly, the cord is nowhere near long enough to allow this.

Re: Anyone hip mount their 3030?
Saw my first 3030 on the beach here and had an opportunity to test drive it. I can assure you at 6'4 there is EVERY reason to hip mount this machine. It would be impossible to own one without doing so. Also after hip mounting my sovereign after 15 years I cannot think of another way to hunt.

Re: Repair of broken mounting tangs on 11" coil?
I have been attempting to glue plastic to plastic for years and usually fail at it. All the super glues, epoxies, jbwelds, etc. for the most part fail on stress areas - because of the reason it failed in the first place - too much stress or the plastic is degrading. That fixit doodad in your middle link gave me a good idea though - I'm going to have my friend do a 3D print of one for this coil. Still I need to understand which type of plastic would be best for this and what to glue the two together with. I've never used MEK but it seems very useful and succesful for joining coil housings. I'm going to experiment with it after reading more.

I am 6'5 and run my CTX just fine.So I can't see the necessity for a hip mount at all.

Re: Anyone hip mount their 3030?
It may be that Dave didn't see how far the shaft can be extended...you should be just fine even as tall as you are. The limitation would be the length of the cable that connects the two main portions of the machine, and the overall balance as stated above...I actually have had the same idea, not out of necessity as it's great as is,but just out of curiosity.

I'm 6'4" and I don't even have the rod fully extended and I get by fine both in and out of the water, so not impossible.
