Re: How leery would you be of buying used with no warranty?

QuoteOut of curiosity why is that? 40+ years and I'd say easily owned over 30 detectors and I've never had a detector go bad. As long as it is guaranteed to be working when I buy it I'm pretty...

Re: How leery would you be of buying used with no warranty?

Re: How leery would you be of buying used with no warranty?

Best I've ever heard (and personally know/trust who is telling me) on a new one is 2k OTD with local pickup. But contact a bunch of the dealers and see what they can do for you.

Re: How leery would you be of buying used with no warranty?

Sounds good guys. I'm in contact with two dealers right now. One without warranty and one with about 8 months left all in the same ballpark price-wise and both less than the one I originally asked...

Re: Wow People are Devoted to their Detectors!

I could see the dealer saying that, maybe correctly, if you were doing a specific type of detecting. Seems like most people say the Deus does better in really heavy iron but that the CTX is better...

Re: WM10 Waterproof Case suggestion:minelab:

I went to a local large sporting goods store, Academy, and got one of their plastic document holders. It has a fold over and snap 'zip loc' type inner seal and then that is folded over and snapped...

Anyone want to test a pattern?

I created this pattern to use in trashy parks that have a lot of iron too. It seems to be real good about picking out coins in the trash. It is setup for fast on, ferrous coin, smooth audio setting....

Re: How leery would you be of buying used with no warranty?

Good luck, Only you can weigh the 'upgraded' CTX with full warranty at full price vs all the various degrees of age/use. And whatever you do, you win by ending up with a CTX!

Re: WM10 Waterproof Case suggestion:minelab:

After giving it some additional thought, decided I didn't really need a completely waterproof case. Just needed some minor weather protection and protection from being dropped or damage. And Something...

Re: Anyone want to test a pattern?

I downloaded that but xchange2 wont load it for some reason. Is this the smooth audio program you used and showed how to set it up in one of your videos a couple years ago?

Re: 2nd time CTX 3030 - 2 gold

Yes, I made sure it was the newer seal and cuff lock. I usually only hunt up to waist deep and that's only on occasion but for the price it should be waterproof as marketed. Slim pickings today as the...

Re: Anyone want to test a pattern?

I'd like to try it. I downloaded it, but won't work. I note that most other *.mlf files are usually 4kb or larger. This one, yours called smooth says in it's file properties that it's only 556 bytes...
