Ya know I read that and I just kinda shook my head. I just came from a Deus and heck, this CTX is built like a tank! Yeah its heavy, very heavy when you jump from a 2 LB. machine to a 5 plus LB. machine. And I am in no way bashing the Deus cuz it's a killer 2 LB. machine.
The CTX is a much better built detector than the old Explorer 1 and 2.
Even the Quatro and Safari is a bit flimsy.
I thought the Deus was well built also.
I do a lot of salt water beach hunting and the Deus just wasn't designed for that.
In the salt water nothing beats a multi-freq detector unless its a PI.
I have had several of all the Explorer models, those detectors are still killer machines! The XS is an outdated machine that will still consistently make other much newer machines look bad!
